ATS started in the first 80's as a company capable of ing and manufacturing small scale pieces of equipment, assembly desks, dimensional testing units by its own. The automation development by the historical customers was joined by the growth of ATS staff and know-how, that consolidated its position as an automated machines constructor on a regional scale.

ATS is currently a completely independent executive structure, capable of assisting the customer from the phase of conceal of pieces of equipment until post-sale technical support. This is possible thanks to the fact that a number of activities are carried out by its own: mechanical, electrical, and software design, machining, parts and electro-pneumatic implants assembly, and equipment setup.

The design tools are among the most advanced, starting with the mechanical design that is aided by 3D CAD software that eases understanding of the chosen solutions even to unskilled staff. Completing a design by only using the mathematical model of the workpiece is in fact a current need for customers that need die pieces of equipment, as well as assembly equipments.

The company's workshop features traditional machine tools like milling machines and lathes and also a CNC machining work station, a wire EDM and a ram EDM. Many mechanical parts can be therefore manufactured by directly using the mathematical model designed by the CAD operators.

For what concerns the automation field, ATS carries out assembly and testing activities, without forgetting the further activities that make the special machines the real product of the company. Our main clients belong to the automotive, telephony, illumination, office automation, safety, and healthcare fields.

The company has designed and manufactured 2000 machines so far, ranging from small pieces of equipment to complete production lines. The proposed machines are a result of process requirements that the customer needs to fulfil, of elements to be processed, and of budget needs. The assembly operations can be completely automatic or carried out with the aid of an operator. Product testing, when needed, is based on the main physical quantities (dimensional, electric, and pneumatic), can be carried out in static or dynamic conditions, and can be correlated only with time or be synchronized. The performed analysis can start from a punctual check (belonging to a range of values) and can driven as far as giving a complete characterization of the product's functioning/conformity (time related parameters for fatigue tests).

ATS proposes itself to the customers as a partner with the aim of creating a production process that sees the assembly and testing operations only as its final phases. The company's goal is sharing the experience that has been building up during its activity in the vast field of automation, in order to design those pieces of equipment that satisfy the process as a whole. This is why the company has always closely worked along with the customer, in the design phases, as well as in the phases that follow installation of the machine in the customer's factory.

Along with the continuous training activity, the company is carrying out the Vison 2000 certification for what concerns the work methodology.

The successful designs that ATS has conceived during its years of activity include:

• Assembly and testing lines for switches stacks, cigar lighters, car and domestic locks, stop and clutch switches, safety belts pretensioners and winders, internal and external lights for cars, ABS sensors, clutch unit components, filter unit, sun roofs and protecting stripes, appliances components, multiway interface connectors, contact insertion heads, dot matrix printer heads.

• Machines to prepare ink cartridges, toner containers, cutters;

• Automatic feeding systems for presses, lathes, and other machine tools

• Monocomponents injection systems distributing the product along 3d surfaces, automatic feeding systems for presses, lathes, and other machine tools;

• Machines to inflate angioplasty balloons, to test pacemakers, to crimp the electrode on the pacemaker activation unit, to assemble oxygenators, to process catheters.
